Plans for a tunnel conneting England and France underneath the English channel have stalled as the House of Lords delay coming to a decision on the plans. Several trading companies have expressed their concerns that the peers are making time to explore the most profitable outcome for themselves.

The Morant Bay rebellion saw the murder, beating or imprisonment of over 1000 black Jamiacans by British troops in response to riots led by Jamaican Paul Bogle in response to growing economic pressures and imprisonment of a Jamiacan man from trespass on a long abanddoned plantation.

With mounting pressure to resign her position due to rumours of a bastard upbringing, the first Air Marhsall Lady Coldwood has given in to the demands of the Admiralty. She delivered her letter of resignation along with a volley from the cannons of the British Air Flagship 'Victoria's Secret' directed at the estate of the Sea Lord. A further two of Her Majesties ten airships mutinied along with the rogue Air Marshall and together they have taken to a life of piracy in the skies of the world.

A new form of explosive known as Dynamite has been invented by Alfred Nobel. The practical applications for this discovery are immense and it is hoped it may be utilised to better humanity.

A group of Polish exiles in Britain have set about collecting Polish texts in the hope of preserving the language and literature the Tsar wishes to destroy. Russian diplomats are putting pressure on the British government to sieze the texts and present them for destruction.

In response to disagreements over foreign policy regarding the sharing of Bavarian resources. An Alliance of Bavaria, Austria and Denmark and several smaller German states have declared war upon Prussia in response to Prussia declaring war on Austria. Prussian Korps have so far been able to mobilise faster than their counterparts and the first major battles promise to be bloody.

With the nation's loyalties divided the elections have been inconclusive. Re-counting of the polls is currently underway but it looks set for Disreali and Gladstone to share power of the British government in a hung parliment.
